To get an understanding of Data Science within the Finance domain and to come away with a CV and portfolio that is more appealing to employers.

To go beyond personal projects and gain experience of what it’s like in the industry and to be able to secure a data science role.

The experience of the instructor allowed me to gain insights into the industry that I only would’ve been able to get through work experience.

What specific skills or knowledge did you gain from this course that directly contributed to achieving your goals?

The ability to not only handle the technical side of things but to ask the right questions to the business and key stakeholders, and deliver an end-to-end solution as if I were a consultant.

How have you applied these skills or knowledge in your work or other professional situations?

I’ve gone on to use these skills in several hackathons and also in my interview for my current position.

Since completing the course, have you noticed any improvements in your job performance?

Yes, it’s changed the way I think. Asking the right questions and understanding the business problem in detail are crucial skills for a data scientist to have in order to bring value to a business. It’s not just about being technically brilliant. This change in thinking has allowed me to make better decisions.

Have you noticed any changes in your confidence levels?

Yes! Since completing the course, I would say this is one of the things that I noticed the most. I’m already quite confident but after completing the course and receiving a letter of recommendation for my performance, I noticed I was a lot more confident in interviews or even at hackathons.

Have you noticed any improvements in your career prospects?

Definitely! I received a lot more interviews after sharing my letter of recommendation and final project on my CV and LinkedIn.

Can you share examples of how these changes are related to your initial goals?

I was trying to stand out in the job market, despite not having any formal qualifications and after the course, I got more interviews.

It helped me to experience what it would be like to work as a data scientist in the finance industry and what kind of skills I need to continue to develop.

Are there any additional skills or knowledge you would like to acquire to further pursue your goals?

I’m currently learning the underlying maths needed for data science.
